background world back to the pitch

How it works

Free every day. Pay to do more.

We sell our games the way people already pay for AI: free every day, then pay to play more, make your own, or earn.

Four tiers, from free to earning

Free US$0

A few plays every day, plus trending worlds anyone has made.

Basic US$7.99 a month

Play everything: Election, Bloodhounds, Card Attack and every world players have made, plus live runs with fair use, a season track and, once it holds 12 games, the whole vault of past arcade games.

Pro US$19.99 a month

Make your own: new eras, cases and towns on our largest models. 700 credits a month.

Max US$49.99 a month

Make and earn: remix and publish games, and earn when others play. 2,000 credits a month.

Basic runs in seasons, like a battle pass: a free track and a Basic track, with badges that are earned and never sold. Subscribers get each new game 48 hours early. Every tier has a credit cap. We pay for the AI underneath, and its price falls every year, so our margins rise without a price change.

The arcade: a new game every two weeks

Players meet our games in the arcade on the web. It is how we test every game on real players, and how new players find us. The subscriptions stay the business.

  1. Play free. Every game has a cabinet with a short clip. Play free runs an offline mode with no live AI, so it costs us nothing and needs no account.
  2. Live run, one quarter. The AI makes the game as you play. Quarters come in packs of 12 for US$3 or 20 for US$5. Each run is priced up front, never by the token, and its AI cost is capped at 5 cents.
  3. A new game every second Thursday, 6pm Eastern. Fourteen days after it drops, each game is read on real players: how many play, come back, share and buy quarters. Games that clear the bar get more work. Every drop also goes out on free game portals.
  4. The vault. A game that misses the bar gets a 17-day countdown, then goes into the vault, the archive of past drops. The vault opens for free weekend events in offline mode.

One quarter brings in about 22 cents after payment fees, and a live run costs 1 to 5 cents of AI, so margin is above 75% (estimates). Quarters are for players who don’t subscribe yet. Quarter revenue isn’t in the v8 model. Mob Machine has its own cabinet and keeps its own funding.

Two kinds of AI game: AI runs the people, or builds the place

What the AI does in a game sets its tier.

Election: a candidate at a podium on election nightBasic

3–15¢an hour, by design

Games where AI runs the people, like ElectionThe AI plays the characters: voters, callers, suspects. Some games also read real data, such as polls.
Time Bandits: a dinosaur in a jungle in the Late CretaceousPro

Under US$3.44once per era

Games where AI builds the place, like Time BanditsType a year, say 1347, and a whole place is built. Then anyone replays it for cents an hour.

The game comes to you, or you ask it

Sometimes the game calls you. Sometimes you call it.

The game comes to you

A new Bloodhounds case comes in. Election turns today’s polls into a crisis. Every game does this.

You ask the game for one thing

Type a year into Time Bandits and that era is generated. You ask for one thing, such as a year, never into a blank text box. Every prompt is moderated.

Generate once, play many

≤US$3.44
to generate a new Time Bandits era: our limit, estimated at US$2 to 3.30 (the prototype measures it by June 2027)
3–20¢
an hour to replay any world that already exists
85%
target share of Pro play-hours on replays

Anything a player generates, everyone else can replay, so cost per player falls as more worlds exist. We recommend the best worlds, the way YouTube picks your next video.

Every game makes the next one faster to build

One game model, many games

A game model is a small AI model trained on our own play data for one kind of character, such as a crowd of voters. The next game in the same family starts from it instead of from scratch. Each game makes the next one faster to build and better to run. That shows up as margin; our lead is the games themselves.

Remix

Change any game by typing, no code. Remixes spend credits. The best become part of the game for everyone.

Max creators keep half, after AI costs

People buy Max to make. Earning is a bonus.

  1. 50% of what your remix earns after AI costs, about 23% of what paying players spend in it.
  2. No self-dealing. Nothing counts from your own or linked accounts.
  3. Held 60 to 90 days. Cash-out for verified adults only.
  4. Invite-only first. It starts with founding creators, then opens up.

We pay for AI on every play, so earnings are paid in credits at first. The model reserves 10 to 15% of platform revenue for creator earnings, more than the split needs.
